WAYS OF SEEING
Cinema IDEAL will host a screening of the documentary series "Ways of Seeing" conceived by John Berger and produced by Mike Dibb. The series was broadcast by BBC in 1972 and adapted into the book of the same name. Cinema IDEAL intends to publicise the re-launch of the documentary series through seven posters promoting the cycle dedicated to this series.
The cinema seeks for the posters to have an experimental and procedural approach capable of calling upon different languages and visual references.
As a starting point for the creation of the poster I graphically and expressively explored the following dichotomies through a process of experimentation with geometric and modular forms framed in a grid:
1. hierarchy / anarchy
2. construction / deconstruction
3. centered / peripheral
4. agglomerated / dispersed
5. depth / surface
6. readable / illegible
7. positive / negative
