FINAL OUTCOME
My illustration of Cendol Melaka blends elements of Chinese and Malay culture, inspired from the Nyonya style. Nyonya culture is known for its complex flower and floral patterns, which I add in this artwork, creating a frame-like effect around the scene. The table features traditional Nyonya patterns, setting the cultural backdrop. The choice of a chicken on the large bowl for the Cendol adds a nostalgic touch, bringing back the old memories.
To enhance the vintage feel, I added noise throughout the artwork, evoking a sense of nostalgia. The title banner is designed with a vintage frame, and I adorned the space below it with pandan leaves for an authentic Malaysian touch.
To draw attention to the focal point, Cendol Melaka, I added sparkling stars surrounding the Cendol Melaka and added a light shining down upon it, emphasizing its importance. The background uses green color, reflecting Malay culture, while the contrast with pink adds vibrancy and Nyonya charm. Pink and green are the dominant colors throughout the artwork.
I highlighted and utilized a gradient approach with bold outlines to add visual impact and highlighted certain areas to bring out their beauty. In summary, my illustration reflects Malaysia's rich heritage of culture by combining modern-day explode with traditional Nyonya inspirations to effectively convey the atmosphere of Cendol Melaka.

The unique selling points of Cendol Melaka have many. Cendol Melaka stands out for several reasons. Firstly, its use of Gula Melaka, traditional palm sugar, gives it a uniquely sweet flavor that sets it apart from other desserts. Secondly, its taste is distinctive, offering a refreshing experience unlike any other sweet treat. Lastly, it serves as an affordable and sizable refreshment option for sweltering days in Malaysia, providing a large bowl of cooling sweetness at a reasonable price.
