Film noir -Rookie With A Gun
Detective is investigating money being stolen from a business.  The contents of the note are  The detective wants to question an important person in the company, so he goes to his house to question him. The wife instead answers the door, and the detective instantly falls for her. He loses track of the investigation since his mind is stuck fantasizing about the wife. He learns some information that leads him to believe the wife is responsible for the stealing and that her husband is innocent and clueless. He goes to interrogate her, but she shoots him by surprise. Shes a rookie with a gun and doesn’t know what shes doing but believes the detective is dead. She sets up a scene that looks as if the detective has committed suicide, revealing the wife was the person writing the note all along and the voiceover fading into her voice rather than the detectives. The note tells the story of the investigation with the addition of a fake reason the detective would want to kill himself in correlation with the investigation. She finishes writing the note and gets up to leave the scene of the crime. She walks away and is shocked to see police telling her shes under arrest. The husband gets away with the money with no suspicion on him, framing the wife for all the crimes. The detective is happy, believing he has solved the crime and brought justice, but the audience know the truth, the main villain was the husband all along.
