This project employed the same techniques used in Plywood Bluegrass (https://www.behance.net/gallery/19085189/Plywood-Bluegrass), a project completed several months prior.
The design was drawn impromtu in Solidworks then transferred to a Trotec Laser Cutter. Cut from 0.20 in plywood and assembled using friction joints, this piece is remarkably stout.
The interlocking construction of the piece makes it suprisingly strong for its material. The plywood used in construction is itself quite easy to break yet becomes remarkably solid when organized in an interlocking lattice.
The personal brand rendered in "Sigil Smithing" (https://www.behance.net/gallery/19045141/Sigil-Smithing) is put into practice here. Rather than inked it is instead laser engraved into the surface of the wood.
Thanks for watching!
