Reconstruction of the Aragonese castle of the village of Juslibol, Zaragoza.

The very name of the village is derived from the Templar slogan 'Deus vult', as it was used as the main garrison's encampment during the siege of the then Muslim Taifa kingdom of Saraqusta.

First decade of the twelfth century. A small Christian detachment carries out consolidation work in the modest fortification of Juslibol, on top of masonry structures of small gypsum ashlars and rammed earth from the Taifa period. Significant earthworks around the core of the complex in the form of moats and trenches provide an efficient and economical defensive solution, despite the fact that from the outset they alter the erosive dynamics of the surrounding terrain. Cattle from the garrison graze in the surroundings, keeping the moats free of plant obstacles.
