Pleased to meet you

A self-portrait is a way for someone to express themselves to the world in a way that feels good to them. The goal of this project was to describe our selves in three words with three images representing the words we chose. The pictures were limited to using one color each, either cyan, magenta or yellow. Then those three images were overprinted to make the final product. The finished piece is 12 by 18 inches and includes a French fold.
This view features my three descriptive words: visionary, curious, and happy.
Visionary - I've always been very creative and am enthusiastic about the overall energy that my designs effuse.
Curious - Learning is a big part of who I am and I'm constantly searching for new ideas or information.
Happy - I'm known for my infectious smile and bubbly personality, and I love a good laugh.
This view features my name, email, dropmark and bechance usernames. Along with my contact information, you can find some of my other work on my dropmark and bechance profiles. Most of my days are spent creating my work at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS.
This is a view of the entire piece where you can see all of the overprinting. I wanted to frame each picture in its own way and the color chosen to match the feel of the picture it covers. Pink for visionary because I'm passionate in that area. Blue for curious to represent the intelligence I gain. Yellow for happy to have that sunshiney brightness.
This view shows both the front and the back of the project. The back image is supposed to help represent ourselves with a saying layered overtop that resonates with us. I chose this picture of a pile of human bones that I took under a centuries old church in Europe because my curiosity can also be a little morbid, as I'm a fan of paranormal and true crime tales and really love the spooky side of things. I also wanted it to represent my sense of adventure and accentuated that by using the phrase YOLO. I feel it matched my slight giddiness while also explaining that I want to live my life as fully as I can.
