Florence
This is our last day of the vacation, and I am not ready yet to leave Tuscany. We have collected some of the most amazing memories here. Let's jump into this day's topic before it starts to "rain" on the keyboard :))
Uffizi gallery, here we go:
This gallery is not just about the artworks and statues. Don't forget to look up (part I)
Happy traveler landed on the chess floor - which player are you? (the King!):P
Before we continue the trip on memory lane, let me just state that we spent 6,5 hours in the gallery - it is huge! There are three floors and a lot to see. Let this not be an excuse for some visitors, maybe they just needed a well-deserved break. Funny when you look around and they blend in nicely with all the marble faces - it is almost like part of the exhibition :))
But, our break looks like a quick snack and some coffififi with a view. My "dessertS" are the best:
When you catch a little guided tour in English - it is very welcome (the only benefit of the big crowd):
We are getting close to my favourites from Botticelli: The Birth of Venus.
(A fun fact is that before I moved to Prague, I lived on a street called Venus for almost 7 years. Can we say that I was one of the "Venus girls"?)
Another favourite:
Section of the cute traveler here. I think he was wondering how would he fit in that time's fashion, am I right? (L)
I think he figured it out :P (R)
Art comes in all shapes and colours in Uffizi:
Picture on the left: Aleš found a mirror in the gallery ... I would say: it's pretty accurate - in my opinion :">
Don't forget to look up (part II):
The Medici Villa and the art inside. It could have been like walking in and out of art:
Moments in the gallery: Aleš wants to be more effective and look to the "left & right" at the same time. :D
Only if there will be one more frame in the middle, this piece would be complete:
We have arrived at the principal point of this exhibit. Please consider how all statues <from now on> want to "hi5" with this cute traveler. I mean, I am not surprised, but at least we could have got some commission:
The line is long, but Aleš is very generous with his fans:
When you high-five a strong hand, there is one thing that will follow:
The picture on the left would be the first "fall outfit", a show in paradise.
The picture in the middle is my favourite traveler:
This part of the gallery was quite empty ... (but the artwork made it "loud").
Or: maybe the visitors joined the ladies on the bench for a quick close of the "žaluzii".
I remember, Knírimus has a book cover with this art piece from Artemisia Gentileschi :P
I am not sure how the "self-tickling" is handled in the gallery. Is it considered a "tragedy"?:
A different meaning of "pixel-perfect", on the level of 10,000 pictures:
I think the best to say is that this is how I look like when I pour a glass of wine and edit these pictures, very close to reality:
Since the gallery was close to closing, and we were in the bookshop too - it was time for some sunlight. Knír soaking up the sun with a hint of pasta and wine:
A quick walk in the centre, and looks like it's time to go. There is so much on our list to see here (... and to drink :P )
Thank you, and see you soon! This year will be also busy :P
