Everyday, children and teeagers use technology without the notice of its uses and compositions. They lack critical thinking of the consumption and the use of this techonlogy. One of the motivations of Fabkids is to potentialize reflexive and analytical processes to empower technologic literacy and motivate children to become innovators.

The fablab kids is a creation laboratory that promotes the development of inteligence, creativity and invention of children and teenagers. It is a platform to stimulate thinking öutside the box" and produce innovation. It is a space where to perform educative and ludic activities for kids among the age of 12 to 16 and it is focused on design and digital fabrication techniques in order to allow them to create personal and useful smart objects, projects or innovative ideas.

FabKids for FAB10 is the biggest and most fun digital fabrication workshop for children and teenagers. The kids learn about different fabrication techniques and processes such as Laser Cutting, 3D scanning and printing, modling & casting, 3D modeling with Rhinoceros as well as simple circuits and electronics. In this way they gather the tools and knowledge that allaw them to "make almos anything" developing its creativity and multiple other skills. It takes place in Barcelona during the Fab10 event and it's organized together with the Ayuntamiento de Barcelona.

The Fab 10 Barcelona is the 10th international conference and annual reunion of the Fab Lab (fabrication laboratories supported by the MIT's Bits and atoms Lab) network. The FAB10 Barcelona gathers the international community of Fab Labs from more than 150 laboratories in more than 40 countries which share tools, projects, programs and processes based on an open information philosophy and colaborative gynamic.
