this before image of chewie, the pomeranian, was captured on my samsung galaxy s5.
this after image was edited/retouched in adobe photoshop cs5. original dimensions were roughly 74" X 41.50" - ridiculous!!
i used 3 seperate "levels" layers while masking specific areas to acquire the look i was going for. i also cleaned up the ground in a quick time by using the patch tool. obviously, that wasn't the most important part... so i didn't spend much time on it. for his eyes, i picked a similar bright orange and shaded in the outer edges in a new layer, then making the layer as an overlay.

after more extensive work, you will see that the blue pole is now gone. i selectively chose several parts of the wall/fence & chewie's tail to create missing areas. that blue pole has been replaced with a replica of fur taken directly from this image. the patch tool has yet again been my go-to helper.
i also worked more on the eyes, giving them a more even-tone for the reflection. this was accomplished by more intense brush opacities on a seperate layer with an overlay.
the ground's saturation was slightly lowered.
retouched a few small areas throughout the piece.
