1. Giới thiệu | Introduction

Con rồng là một linh vật đặc biệt trong văn hoá của người Việt Nam, tượng trưng cho sự may mắn, trí tuệ và sức mạnh.

Rong Choi (hay Rồng Chơi) là một dự án kỉ niệm năm con Rồng. Thông qua dự án, mình muốn đem đến hình ảnh về một năm mới đặc biệt hơn và gửi gắm mong ước với những trải nghiệm mới, "chơi" hơn, táo bạo hơn, dám nghĩ dám làm nhiều hơn.

The Dragon is a special mascot in Vietnamese culture, symbolizing luck, intelligence, and power.

Rong Choi is a project to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. Through the project, I want to bring a different image of the new year and send wishes for a year full of new experiences, more "playful", and more reckless.

2. Cảm hứng | Inspiration

Lấy cảm hứng từ những câu thành ngữ, tục ngữ Việt Nam để làm cớ thể hiện chủ đề "Rồng Chơi" của dự án.

"Rồng rắn lên mây": một trò chơi dân gian gắn liền với tuổi thơ của nhiều đứa trẻ Việt Nam.

"Cá chép hóa Rồng": mang ý nghĩa về sự bình an, may mắn trong cuộc sống và thành công trong học tập, công việc.

"Rồng đến nhà tôm": người cao sang đến thăm kẻ thấp hèn (thường thấy trong lời nói nhún nhường của chủ nhà với khách). Ở đây mình chơi chữ với chú mèo Tôm trong Tom&Jerry như phép ẩn dụ về năm Mèo qua nhường chỗ cho năm Rồng đến.

Inspired by Vietnamese idioms and proverbs as an excuse to express the project's "Rong Choi" theme.

“Dragon and snake ascend towards the sky”: a traditional childhood game played by many Vietnamese children.

“Carp transforms into a Dragon”: represents peace, luck and success in life.

“Dragon visits the shrimp’s house”: a high-class person visits a lowly one (often seen in the humble words of the host to the guest). Here I make a pun with Tom in Tom & Jerry, which sounds like shrimp in Vietnamese, as a metaphor for the Year of the Cat giving way to the Year of the Dragon.

3. Yếu tố thiết kế | Elements

Điều đặc biệt của dự án là kết hợp nhiều font một cách tự do, tạo hình con rồng ngộ nghĩnh để thể nghiệm một sự nghịch ngợm, vui vẻ trong năm mới.

Điểm nhấn trong cụm tên chính của dự án là chữ Ô trong từ "RỒNG", được custom với dáng vẻ uốn lượn, dẻo dai của Rồng.

The special thing about the project is the free combination of fonts, creating a playful Dragon character to experiment with a sense of mischief and joy in the new year.

The highlight in the main title of the project is the letter Ô in the word “RỒNG” (the Dragon), which is customised to embody the shape, symbolising the flexibility and resilience of the Dragon.
