3D Animation
 Walk Cycle & Run Cycle
Objective :
To animate  walk cycle  and Run Cycle of a  3d rigged model .

Techniques used :
Modeling.
Key frames.
Animate.

Tool Used :
Maya

Challenges :
Establishing the intermediate frames within the animation to ensure smooth transitions and fluid motion.
Initially, I brought the rig model into the Maya viewport. Subsequently, I established a project window and configured the project settings to organize the associated files systematically.
With the setup complete, I verified the functionality of all model controls to ensure proper operation. After confirming their effectiveness, I proceeded to initiate the animation of the model.
To initiate the animation process for the model, I began by utilizing a reference, particularly for a walk cycle. This reference served as a guide for creating keyframes and in-betweens, ensuring a smooth and realistic animation.
Leveraging the provided reference, I proceeded to animate the model. Keyframes were strategically placed at frames 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, and 25, serving as the primary moments of emphasis. The frames in between these keyframes were designated as in-betweens, contributing to the overall fluidity of the animation.
Keyframes
Keyframes serve as crucial snapshots, capturing significant poses or positions of a character or object at specific instances. On the other hand, in-betweens are the frames that bridge the gaps between these keyframes, facilitating smooth motion. Their role is essential in imparting realism to the animation by seamlessly connecting the distinct key poses.
In-Betweens
A critical aspect to consider in animation is the temporal spacing between consecutive frames. A shorter distance between frames results in a faster-paced animation, while a greater distance between frames contributes to a slower-paced animation.
FINAL OUTPUT
Similarly, we apply the concept of keyframes and in-betweens for a run cycle. The reference image below serves as a guide for creating key poses and filling in the intermediary frames to achieve a fluid and realistic running animation.
During the creation of the run cycle, the animation is structured with keyframes at specific points such as 1, 4, and 7, highlighting crucial moments. Complementing these keyframes, in-betweens are strategically inserted at frames 2, 3, 5, and 6 to ensure a smooth and coherent transition between the distinct poses, contributing to the overall realism of the animation.
