These are the reference images I gathered in order to create my cat model. These are all from different expansions and shows how over time, the models have been updated, changed and made new. I used the fire cat form for my inspiration, however during the module, World of Warcraft added the new updated fire cat form, which I have added, this gave me additional ideas for my model.

I created a small handful of sketches to begin, I went into modelling straight away.

The progress of my cat was slow to start, as my original attempt ended badly. I was trying a new tool and hadnt been paying closer attention to the reference image. When I restarted and imported the images to follow, the model took a much better shape.

At the model had a massive amount of polygons in the mesh, and it started to cause issues when trying to increase the resolution to get finer details. I tackled this by making the pebbles, crystals and teeth their own objects and merge them together later. I was also able to reduce the mesh density without losing the shape of the face or pebbles.

I attempted to UV inside blender but I was unable to get past the unwrap tool, I found a way to export the model from blender and into Maya, where I am more comfortable with UV. It took me a larger amount of time as I had to UV each pebble, which totaled 295. Due to my time running out, the cat model UV is relatively broken but I was able to complete the rest.

I exported into substance where I put together the textures I gathered on the community page, due to time, I couldnt sit and make my own as it was something too complex to learn on such short notice, which is why I am making sure to plan ahead next time.

Below are 2 rendered images from substance painter. It was pointed out that the color scheme blends too much and I lost quite a bit of detail as well as where the paw and pebbles seperate. This is something I need to consider for future texturing.
