ILVES - Soccer in the Heart of Finland
While working at Mainostoimisto Värikäs, I had the pleasure of working with the Finnish soccer team Ilves for several years. Ilves is the largest sports club in Finland and was founded in 1931. They have multiple teams dedicated to children's, women's, and men's soccer. I worked for the men's team, which focused on playing in the Veikkausliiga, the highest level of professional football in Finland.
Advertisements in Newspapers
Over the years, I have created several different advertisements for Ilves, from event announcements to seasonal sales. During the football season, the ads changed daily and were usually based on a game being played or an upcoming game.
Creating ads for magazines also included digital ads with the same content as a physical magazine ad. Sometimes, these display ads included animations to grab viewers' attention.
Website design
My team and I had the pleasure of redesigning the website page for Ilves Edustus, now known as Ilves Football. Our starting point was clear from the beginning, and we decided to lead the design towards a more modern and visually appealing aspect. The live site utilizes data collected from games, allowing fans to view statistics from the matches and check details about their favorite players, such as how many minutes they have spent on the field.
Videos (Social Media)
Social media played a significant role in my work. I created various types of videos, including those for Instagram Stories. One of my favorite series involved presenting players with questions. For instance, players were asked who the penalty king was, and they all named one of their teammates. Interestingly, even the person named himself!
Merchandise
Designing merchandise for the soccer team was one of the most enjoyable aspects of my job. In the image above, you can see an illustration I created—a winter-themed landscape featuring the silhouette of Tampere, the hometown of the soccer team. In the foreground, a lynx (which is ilves in English) is walking calmly in the snow.
A small quantity of tote bags was produced, primarily for those working with Ilves. Additionally, social media posts and animations were released using the same illustration.
