Sallymills is a homily Café which brings about feelings of ‘warmth and nostalgia’ as soon as you enter it. Familiar aromas of ‘ mum’ in the kitchen baking fresh bread, scones, and doughnuts come to mind when people think of this café.
So from this feeling that generated from Sallymills I have designed this concept for its packaging. The concept used for Sallymills is quite playful, bright and simple colours which express the feeling and mood in the Café. The concept relies on the idea of everything that is handmade.
The image itself was inspired by a simple doily which is very playful, elegant and handmade similar to the concept I was looking at. It later developed itself into this simple and communicative logo that would be recognisable everywhere. Not only is it appealing to look at but it also makes the customer aware of what is available at Sallymills. This is a clean, trusting and homily café that offers you the best of artisan baking. This is clear in the copywriting that goes along with the image. The word wealth in ‘a wealth of new tastes and flavours’ communicates to us that Sallymills offers the highest level of artisan baking.
