I am very happy to say that the "mountain box shard#1" has (to my complete amazement) gotten into the Threadneedle Prize at the Mall Galleries, London. Unfortuntely it is slightly small and very nice but not totally amazing and therefore I am not going to be getting any of the £45,000+ prize money for this show, but I am much made up for getting it there.
Somehow it means a lot to me, I think because as a self taught artist of few years I get frustrated with my wanderings, it makes me furious that I cannot settle on one thing. The word-paintings, and abstracts to a degree, are my bread and butter, and they work perfectly for me, just a combo of thoughts, words, colour, paint, but I also have so many other ideas. To get a little idea thing into such a prestigious show is just wonderful because it validates my exploration of everything, positively encourages me to keep going off at all angles.
