Annual reports are more than an obligation to disclose financial information. Intelligent companies, like Clorox, use their annual report as a branding tool to ensure that shareholders, employees, and potential investors perceive the character of the company they choose to trust.

A successful annual report entices the reader and ensures the comprehension of the company’s strategy, while showing the financial and operational success stories, and the opinions of the company leaders. They should communicate in a way that moves the reader, and that is the work of the designers. The design criteria for this annual report were to develop it in away that reinforced the accomplishments and communicated the image of the great-brands company, while making it trendy and appealing.

The message from the Clorox Annual Report was solid and consistent. In order to enhance the message, I utilized contrasting backgrounds, spreads that contain full bleeding color pages and consumers’ photos, and increased the importance to the products’ images. In addition, to enhance the view of Clorox as a traditional company, I added a time-line showing the evolution of the Clorox Liquid Bleach bo
ttle, which is listed as a collectors'  item on their web site.
