Corium
A random product that convinces with its appearance.

Corium is the result of experiments to develop a soft and flexible material from the remains of bricks. It has a clean design, a pleasant feel and a sandstone look.Particular attention has been paid to stability and surface finish, with sanding allowing surfaces to be optimized and unevenness to be smoothed out. Drilling can be risky, but the use of moulds allows holes to be incorporated into the basic shape. They also facilitate through-drying.
The material is based on natural binders that cause it to dissolve into its natural components when exposed to water or the elements.

This project was co-developed with Franziska Rausch.
The project was featured in publication 'Rethinking Bricks - Brick Recycling Experiment: Material Research & Design Course'' of the MaterialLab of Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design. I designed the publication and oversaw its publication.
