Darkroom Print Video
I created this video when I entered the 2022 Science Ambassador Scholarship. I created with with only my iphone, an animation website, and adobe premier pro. I learned a lot about the adobe platform, story boarding, and creating a cohesive video. It was super-fun to make and I would be interested in learning more about video in the future.
My Process
The Idea:
To create this video I first developed my idea of photographic chemistry into a procedural layout of a print process. I knew I couldn't encapsulate everything I knew on the topic into a three minute video and have it make sense to anyone. So, I narrowed it down into making a print and explaining the chemistry that is associated with it.

The Script:
The next step was creating the script. This gave me an idea of what clips I would need and the time frame I was going for.

Filming:
I filmed the print process in my high schools darkroom. It was a challenge to get the footage as the room is very dark and my phone is a light source but, I was able to be creative and careful as I shot. I also took clips of the beginning and end in my room. The last piece I needed was a way to illustrate the chemical process inside the paper. For this, I decided the best way was to use an animation.

Animating:
I settled on a platform and got to doodling! I was tricky to line up animations with the script but, eventually I got it and I am proud of how it turned out.

Editing:
Finally, it was time to put it all together. I separated the audio and mashed that all together. Then, I arranged the footage and animations and created thoughtful cuts and transitions.
