San Fransokyo - Disney Marketing Animation

Animated content for Disney's San Fransokyo Square project at California Adventure Park.
Storyboards
The animations kicked off with a concept – opening a Disney passport to reveal stamps representing different aspects of the park: sights, food, and shopping. I started with sketches of the locations in Procreate. Transitioning to storyboards, the challenge is adapting to multiple social formats – horizontal, vertical, and square.
Color Mockups
Establishing the visual style early on was key. Quick color mockups became the tool for accurately portraying the look and feel of San Fransokyo, its culinary offerings and merchandise. This phase served as a visual guideline, ensuring a seamless connection between imagination and the envisioned reality.
Illustrations
In Adobe Illustrator, each illustration was crafted using vectors, with a focus on layering and labeling to keep animation in mind.
Animation
First, I built the animation of the passport opening with camera movements across the stamps. Then I animated the individual stamps with simple movements.
