The Journey Set

We explored a short animation for AUTEUR, showcasing the exclusive holiday travel bag.

This bag is designed to accommodate various travel sizes and essentials, merging the durability of sturdy canvas with leather details and an elegant golden zipper closure. We meticulously attended to every detail in the animation and simulation process to bring the product to life and showcase the quality of each material.

Within the campaign, we also featured a few other skincare products to create a splendid setting, complementing the bag while appealing to the brand's target audience.

The entire visual was crafted with a careful eye, emphasizing the distinctive features of the bag. Always employing a minimalist approach in composition, using lighting to accentuate shadows and enhance the brilliance of the golden materials.

Determining the ideal simulations for the animation was quite a challenging task. From crafting the zipper's movement to simulating various fabrics and leather, the entire process provided a valuable learning opportunity for all involved.

Sound Design

The musical goal for this project was to set up Auteur to be on par with other luxury brands on the market, in terms of the emotions and aesthetics associated with the experience of engaging with the brand (either through exposure to their online identity or use of their products).

The first thing was to identify key values of luxury brands across the market, the relative emotions, and then the corresponding musical techniques required to communicate those things.

A few terms that cropped up were: “timeless (nostalgic yet hopeful AKA a strong lineage whilst maintaining an innovative spirit), awe inspiring and grand”.

And so the choice was made to utilize a more cinematic aesthetic/tone via traditional instruments like violin and piano whilst being paired with more synthetic sounds- all in service of capturing and distilling the essence of the emotions of awe, nostalgia/hope and grandeur into the 40s clip you find before you today.
