Art 125 Adobe CC Basics: Campus Map

The requirements for the assignment are as follows:

Illustrator

Use simple shapes to recreate a campus map from the overhead map image provided.

The map must include all the following items, labeled by the client on the provided image and drawn over the map:

Color code the buildings and features.

Optional: You may also use Illustrator to create icons to label things or to help with navigation to the descriptions of each building previously mentioned.

NOTE: Use simple shapes and lines to create this map. As such, paths and details are not needed. Use of the pen tools is not needed.

Photoshop

Campus photos

You will be provided pictures of four campus buildings.

Color each building the same color as the map you created. For example, a yellow Illustrator building equals a yellow-toned photograph.

Crop each image to the same size and ratio

Students

Find a minimum of four students to cut out of their backgrounds and place them on one page or on separate pages. (These images have not been provided for you.)

This should not be on the map itself but rather in a corner of the page the map will be on, on a description page to add personality, on the cover, or just in an empty space to add character.

InDesign

Put map, images, icons, and photos together with the provided descriptions. 

Use a minimum of five type styles within the book.
