This first project is one of my favorites that I’ve ever designed, partially because it’s a movie I grew up watching and enjoying.
And also because of the movies time period and styling works so well with what I enjoy creating and the design style that I enjoy working on.

This project was created for the 30th anniversary of the movie this year, since it was such a influential and favorite movie of mine, I decided I had to design some posters celebrating the occasion and came up with some posters that stay true to the movie and feature bright colors tye dye and loads of imagery from the movie and on set photos.
The first poster features a stunning blue on blue tye dye with the smiley face from the original posters with the iconic GTO in the opening scene within the smiley.
The second poster of the trio features a bright orange purple and red tye dye background with imagery from the movie merged within the typography and overlaid with halftones.
The third poster of the trio features some of the most iconic imagery of the movie and set, ensuring that these are the star of this poster. Trying to ensure the typography is legible but near ghostly.
