Pinch pots
Pinch pots are a simple clay pot which is created by pinching the clay with your fingers
The process
For the process of making a pinch pot you will need to get a piece of clay to start off with not too much but not too little. Id say about enough to make a medium ball in the palm of your hand.
Next you begin to roll the clay into a ball which is making it smoother every time you do this.
After this you have to use your finger to punch a hole into the centre of the ball and dig down so it creates a hollow hole.
You start to create the bowl by twisting it around a turning it while pinching the edges to make it more like a bowl.
Add water to it as well to help it not crack as much and to help blend to make it look at lot smoother.
For mine I decided to create two pinch pots, one smaller than the other, the smaller one I underneath and it held together by the one on top by etching out little marks on both of them and holding them in place by water which has now stuck them together. Although it looks like quite a simple project it is much more time consuming then It looks like. You need to be able to stop it from cracking and make sure it is a good width for it to work out without breaking.
I noticed after that it looked a little like a bird bath so I decided to add a little swan with the remaining clay I had left. It turned out how I wanted it to, and not many problems occurred during it. Id say the only problem I had making this was making the first bowl a little bit to narrow around the edges which made it flop a little more.
