Publishing House Ads
I was tasked with creating three ads for the publishing company RG Publishing, which boasts of uniquely close relationships with its authors and values simplicity in design. Each of the three ads were themed with metaphorical, positive, and negative advertising.
I brainstormed around 25-30 taglines total and then proceeded to incorporate them into thumbnail designs. I ended up liking my metaphorical taglines enough to reuse them in my negative ad thumbs, and ultimately used one as my negative ad. While most of my designs varied in style and visual content, I tried to maintain a consistent emphasis on the tagline.
All of my designs use Alte Haas Grotesk and Classical Diary. My positive ad design was the most time-consuming to compose, as I ended up piecing together five photos to create the pictured scene. The other two designs were far simpler: the coat sleeve in the metaphorical ad was generated with Photoshop's AI tool, and my negative ad was largely typographic.
