''Carp Koi Against The Current'' Tees

Carp Koi Against The Current
"Carp Koi swimming against the current so hard his eyes pop out. Japanese Carp as a symbol of strength, courage and patience."

The collection "Yōkai Adventures" are illustrations inspired by Japanese mythology and historical folklore.
Yōkai are a class of supernatural entities and spirits in Japanese folklore. This project originally started with a collection of illustrations. However, I re-created it to physical products, such as T-Shirts, Stickers, Cards, and Riso Posters.

The source of inspiration were books:
Something Wicked from Japan: Ghosts, Demons & Yokai in Ukiyo-E Masterpieces
Japanese Woodblock Prints by Andreas Marks Artists, Publishers and Masterworks: 1680 - 1900

It all started with a sketch...

Next step was to recreate the sketch into a digital illustration, and do some work on the details.

And finally creating a product in a form of T-Shirts.
Beginning with contacting a suitable manufacturer who is highly experienced in printing fabric. Choosing the right decoration technique for the print and preparing the design to eliminate any possible mistakes through the production.

And voilà!
100% organic cotton T-Shirts with a high quality screen printed design on the back,
plus a lil logo of the collection in the front.

And extra give away stickers, that comes with every Tee from "Yōkai Adventures" collection.
