There are two units of repetition: a knot and a strand of knots. The schedule I followed was 24 hours divided into 4 days, further broken down into chunks of 30 minutes (total 48 chunks). The final outcome is a curtain of 139 strands. The strips used to create the knots are made of 53 discarded clothes mainly saris.
Tehching Hsieh's One Year Performance introduced the notion of life as passing time and the intersection of time, space and body. The suffering that the performance artist went through is an intrinsic and impactful aspect of the product of time. Remembering his performance made me more accepting towards my own disturbances during the 24-hour task.

Exploring time
wax crayon, pen on paper (6 × 6 inch)
3 hours
Time underwater
Why do people around me
Prance over these lines
When the same lines
Bind me in trenches of despair
The hours spent smiling and laughing
Don’t come to me that easily
I look to the clock ticking
It ticks away
Everyday I question
Do I have to do this
everyday, will I wither away with this
Anguish resting deep
I sink, I float, I sink
I float
When will I swim
When will I flap my fins,
Do my fins even exist?
But I can't see them?!
Water is not my element then
But I don’t have wings...
