Color Studies
In this assignment, I had to pick an inanimate object to use for my four designs of color theory being monochrome, complementary, split complementary, and tetrad. For my inanimate object, I picked a candle with a couple of accessories in the picture for this assignment.
In the monochrome part of the assignment, I pick blue to be the main color to focus on and shape the candle with all the shadings and lighting colors that blue had in its color palette to give and I also add texture to the wall to give it more realistic effects.
In the complementary, I went for a purple and yellow palette. when working on the complementary, I decided to use purple for the candle and the plants leaves and yellow for everything around the candle like the walls, the flame, and the stem of the plants.
For the split complementary, the color palette that I chose was pink, red, and green. In this part, I went for green for the stems to symbolize a real plant stems and for the plant leaves I went for pink to look like flowers and also use it for the candle with the different shadings and lighting. And for red, I used it for the wall and table with the darker colors looking like brown and using the lighter colors for the wall to give it more definition and using the red as the flame.
Last of all is the tetrad, in this color palette I use blue, purple, green, and orange. For this part the orange works perfectly for the table piece where I can use the darker colors of orange to make the brown so it symbolizes as a table. Another thing I use for the orange is the flame for the candle. Next, I use blue for the wall and different shadings of blue to give the plant more definitions with the leaves. Another thing I use is the green to make the stems of the plant. And last of all I use purple to make the whole candle piece stand out.
