Invocatio
A little magical tale
Etymology: From invocō + -tiō. invocātiō = invocation
This academic work was developed for the British School of Creative Arts and Technology (EBAC).
Storyboard
The idea was to make a simple story that could be understood without words, just images. So I came up with the following story after a long brainstorming:
The canopy of trees in a forest keeps the full moon company. A witch is in a clearing making her cauldron float above a bonfire. She finishes the spell and a fantastic creature comes out of the cauldron, flying around the witch. The creature plays as the witch chases it into the night with her broom.
Assembly and sewing
The illustrations were made with multicolored pencils, adding magic to the drawings and also bringing a surprise to each stroke, not leaving it monotonous. After the drawings were finished, I assembled the pages and sewed them manually, making this work very special for me.
