Brief summary

In a world where everyone has access to powerful image editing tools and social media platforms, photography has become a democratised form of art, to stand out, photographers must embrace a unique style, refine technical and creative skills and curate their images to tell a meaningful story that informs, educates and inspires.

Without falling into the trap of representing a literal sequence of images, create an engaging sequence of shots, by considering the visual content and making thoughtful choices about what features to highlight in the final image. Focusing on visual qualities such as shape, form and texture and colour can create a stronger visual narrative engages the viewer in a meaningful way. Observing these details provide new perspectives to create unique work

Rationale

This photography curation project defies conventional storytelling by exploring the visual connections between textures, shapes, and lines in urban environments. The collection focuses on the interplay of movement in the stationary, using transportation and fashion, employing a non-linear sequence to invite viewers to interpret and emotionally engage with the imagery. From the fluidity of fashion poses, the project moves through the dynamic patterns of urban and rural landscapes, incorporating everyday objects like pylons and water taps to signify the journey and the destination. By avoiding a literal narrative, the curation prompts a deeper appreciation for the often-overlooked details that compose the visual richness of the life in-between the city and rural life.
