Type as Image: Stitch
Stitch is a celestial entity that takes on the appearance of an earthly dog and is adopted by Lilo. The stitch example is created with color variation and text that only connects with him and his skills and looks.
What I learned in developing this project was that I had to find a lot of words to illustrate Stitch and represent his characteristics. I also had to match the original color of his typeface. I also experimented with different fonts and layouts, trying to find the perfect combination. Finally, I tweaked the font size and spacing to ensure readability.
The project was developed using Adobe Illustrator. To illustrate that concept, I typed all the words from beginning to end. Throughout the illustration, I chose to make Stitch stand out by using all the words that reflect what makes him unique.
This project was developed for Beacon College as Project 4 for my typography class, Imagine a Poster of Stitch.
