The cyanotype camera appeals to me because of its spontaneity. The camera has a refreshing sensibility and forces you to embrace whatever flaws or errors it brings with it. For this reason I decided to use the camera i constructed to capture something in my surrounding without composing it specifically for the camera. The use of repetition in my piece is to create a contrast with the inherent idiosyncratic quality of the cyanotype. I studied the compositional geometry of my print, and used it to create an iterating pattern that disguises the subject of my photo into a tessellating design.
