Tracking Space and Time

Tracking Yourself Through Space and Time

Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you. - Carl Sandburg

This project aimed to track someone through space and time, and to manifest that tracking in a visual format. Scale was used as a measurement to present this information. The main focus of the project was in the collecting of information and how that information is interpreted in order to produce an informative, yet well designed packet of information.

The focus of the project that I chose was to track someone's anxiety through time and space. This was an important thing to choose, as it provided a small enough focus that the information to collect wasn't overwhelming. As well as that, the designs created in this project could be easily manipulated and reused in order to be relevant in many different situations.
First way of displaying information collected. This aimed to focus in on depicting anxiety through time. A circle was used to depict the hours of the day, reminiscient of a clock. A clock was chosen as an image to evoke as it is a common physical manifestation of time, that everybody is familiar with.
The second way of depicting information collected. It focused on the impact of space on anxiety, with a more specific focus on the type and number of people in proximity to the person at the time of different levels of anxiety.
The third way of depicting information collected. It also focused on the impact of space on anxiety, but had more focus on the actual physical space where the different levels of anxiety occured. Here, the focus was also taken off the level of anxiety, and instead focused on the different moods in each place, which informs the stress levels of a person. As well as that, there was a focus on the crossover between time and space, where size was used to depict different amounts of time spent in places.
