This 3" (75mm) medal was to be cast in bronze via lost wax. I was commissioned by Artcast in Canada to make the master. I was sent a basic outline of the hands and text, and told that the hands had to be somewhat stylized. Happily, I had the 3D tools to do this. I just worked really well to tweak details and send a digital rendering to the customer. When they were happy, I sent the file to NSCNC in Vancouver. They did a brilliant job of cutting this in wax.
