A rabbit hop-cycle paper cut-out animation. I wanted to expand my knowledge of walk cycles and movement away from the human walk cycle. I love rabbits. The way they hop to move around is so distinct, which is why I chose it. The rabbit hops until she reaches a spinning white Poinsettia flower. Poinsettias remind me of my mother, who is from El Salvador, something I am very proud of. This is an implicitly autobiographical piece where the rabbit (me) is finding my way back to my mother, and ultimately my roots.

Materials: Bristol paper, purple and green gouache paint, scissors, micron pen, and Photoshop. 2021.
