Kinetic Sculpture: Beauty through movement
The kinetic sculpture is based on the physical principle of centrifugal force, which acts through the rotational motion of a body on all bodies directly connected to it. When the sculpture is at rest, eight orange-red acrylic cylinders hang from elastic bands of varying lengths in the direction of the floor. Together they form a circle at the height of a light source that makes the cylinders glow. As the rotation begins, the cylinders align themselves perpendicular to the axis of rotation and eventually describe the shape of a hemisphere. In addition, the circular mirror, which initially hangs vertically, also changes its position to the horizontal plane and thus reflects the light onto the sculpture, which is now located above the light source.
