Some may think that it is a stupid thing to post a weak case in your portfolio, but I think it is useful for working on mistakes and personal growth.

Кто-то может подумать, что это глупый поступок - выкладывать слабый кейс в своё портфолио, но я думаю это полезно для работы над ошибками и собственного роста.
Well, let's get started. First, about the content and in my opinion this is a big plus of the book. “Dream and Reality” is a fairy tale about how in the same village lived a black cat with a white spot named Reality and a white cat with a black spot named Dream.
Что ж, приступим. Сначала о содержании и, на мой взгляд, это большой плюс книги. «Сон и Явь» это сказка, о том как в одной деревне жили чёрная кошка и с белым пятнышком по имени Явь и белый кот с чёрным пятнышком по имени Сон.
The cats live there for a very long time and walk on their own, but everyone knows them, feeds them and takes care of them. And then one day they quarrel, so much so that the whole village suffers. Nobody knows the reason, but everyone is very afraid of the consequences and they are doing the right thing, because the quiet life of the village will now cease. Anomalies begin to happen around.
Коты там живут очень долго и гуляют сами по себе, но все их знают, кормят и лелеят. И вот однажды они ссорятся, да так, что на ушах стоит вся деревня. Никто не знает причины, но все очень боятся последствий и правильно делают, потому что спокойная жизнь деревни отныне прекращается. Вокруг начинают творится аномалии.
At first, the adult residents of the village try to solve problems with the help of external forces, invite various scientists and specialists, but no one can help them, and then, in despair, the residents gather a council, at which the oldest resident of the village, old woman Tasya, is also present.
Сначала взрослые жители деревни пытаются решить проблемы с помощью внешних сил, приглашают разных учёных и специалистов, но никто не может им помочь и тогда отчаявшись, жители собирают совет, на котором присутствует и самый старший житель деревни - баба Тася.
The adults decide to get rid of the cats and expel them from the village, and do it in public. They set a day and time and everyone agrees with this plan, and only Tasya remains silent and leaves, making it clear to everyone that she does not approve of this decision.
В перепалке взрослые решают избавиться от котов и изгнать их из деревни, при том сделать это прилюдно. Назначают день и время и все соглашаются с эти планом и только баба Тася промолчав и уходит, дав понять всем, что она не одобряет это решение.
The main characters of the fairy tale, the boy Egor and the girl Polina, also disagree with this and decide to somehow prevent this. As a result, they come up with a brilliant idea to reconcile the cats before that fateful day.
Главные герои сказки мальчик Егор и девочка Полина тоже с этим не согласны и решают как-то помешать. В итоге им приходит гениальная идея помирить котов до того самого рокового дня.
This is where their adventures begin. From now on, they will turn to chickens, dogs and even meet a goldfish, they will try all the methods, all the ancient rituals to reconcile the cats, but they will never be able to do it.
Здесь и начинаются их приключения. С этого момента они будут обращать к курам, собакам и даже повстречают золотую рыбку, перепробуют все способы, все древние ритуалы, чтобы примирить котов, но так и не смогут этого сделать.
The fairy tale has a very poignant line of growing up. Egor is older than Polina and strange questions about life and death periodically pop into his head, he sees dreams in which Polina flies like a bird, and he waits for her on the ground for a long time.
В сказке есть очень щемящая линия взросления. Егор старше Полины и в голову ему периодически лезут странные вопросы о жизни и смерти, он видит сны, в которых Полина летает как птица, а он долго ждёт её на земле.
In the end, all roads lead to Baba Tasya, who reveals to them the secret of how to reconcile Dream and Reality. At dawn, the children set out to look for the heavenly Cow, who can give them magic milk that can reconcile cats.
В конце концов все дороги ведут к бабе Тасе, которая расскрывает им секрет как примирить Сон и Явь. На рассвете дети отправляются искать небесную Корову, которая может дать им волшебного молока, способное примирить котов.
Another successful find, I think, is the idea of the duality of the world. A black cat and a white cat, chickens, dogs are also black and white, and the heavenly Cow herself is half white and half black.
Ещё одной удачной находкой, я считаю иде дуальности мира. Чёрная кошка и белый кот, куры, псы тоже черные и белые, и сама небесная Корова наполовину белая и наполовину чёрная.
I wanted to put into the fairy tale not only love for all living beings, but also the important idea that when the balance in life is upset, we often begin to become aggressive or, on the contrary, we want to get rid of the problem and its source instead of trying to restore this balance, find an approach and reconcile both scales.
В сказку мне хотелось вложить не только любовь ко всем живым существам, но и важную идею о том, что когда в жизни нарушается баланс мы часто начинаем агрессивничать или наоборот хотим избавиться от проблемы и её источника вместо того, чтобы попытаться вернуть этот баланс, найти подход и примирить обе чаши весов.
And now a little about the implementation of the idea. As I wrote above, one of the central ideas is the duality of the world, which is why the book has a double-leaf shape. The shape is successful, but so narrow and long that the “air” in the book is distributed strangely. Inharmonious for a book about harmony)))
А теперь немного о воплощении идеи. Как я уже писала выше, одна из центральных идей дуальность мира, поэтому форма книги двустворчатая. Форма удачная, но настолько узкая и длинная, что «воздух» в книге распределяется странно. Негармонично для книги о гармонии)))
The second weakness is a lot of unsuccessful illustrations in this case, I regretted not working on the storyboard. Especially in such a specific form, it was simply necessary to do this so that both in scale and in meaning the illustrations were more complete and detailed.
Вторая слабость это множество неудачных иллюстраций - в этом случае, я пожалела, что не проработала раскадровку. Особенно в такой специфической форме это просто необходимо было сделать, чтобы и по масштабу и по смыслу илюстрации были более цельные и детализированные.
Also, the movement of the illustrations suffers; they have no rhythm and are very static, in my opinion.
А ещё страдет движение иллюстраций, в них нет ритма и они очень статичны, на мой взгляд.
The color scheme also suffers; it is too varied. And the clouds with the text of the characters do not fit into the book, but only seem to fill the voids of insufficiently developed illustrations.
Также страдает цветовая гамма, она слишком разношёрстная. И облака с текстом персонажей не ложаться в книгу, а лишь будто заполняют пустоты недостаточно проработанных иллюстраций.
Yes, there are certainly successful spreads))) And the cover with cow embroidery is beautiful.
Да, безусловно есть удачные развороты))) И обложка с вышивкой коровкой красивая.
However, due to the imperfection of the design, the gap between the pages looks strange and, of course, the most important omission is that ordinary handwriting, and even in black, makes the book sloppy and the atmosphere of the book is very everyday.
Однако из-за не совершенства конструкции пропасть между страницами смотрится странно и, конечно, самое главное упущение - это обычный почерк, да ещё и чёрным цветом, делает книгу неряшливой и очень всё бытовит атмосферу книги.
But all this means that I’m not upset. It doesn’t matter how many mistakes I made, the main thing is to analyze and grow above myself. I hope that this case will support and inspire you, if you are very strict with yourself, or maybe you can draw my attention to something that I didn’t notice and let it be something good)))
Но всё это к тому, что я не расстраиваюсь. Неважно, сколько ошибок я допустила, главное, это анализировать и расти над собой.
