I chose to focus on the Air max 90’s fly ease for Nike Air max Day because they are the shoe of the 90’s and because of the multiple sewn sections on the sides of the shoes; they interest me in how they layer over the other materials. Along with the layers, the engineering of the shoe was constructed specifically to assist those who have difficulty putting on shoes and that inspired the complexity and layering of this motion piece.
Behind this piece is a focus on the overall movement of the shoe as well as the engineering behind the pattern of this sneaker. I chose to work with footage for this video and used it to incorporate a main focus while overlapping some looped projected geometric patterns. The overlapping effects in this motion piece resembles the overlapping materials of the shoe with the different pieces of sewn sections. Overall, the style of the video is street inspired with some urban industrialism and graffiti art to tie it all back to the Air max 90’s.
