The University of Southern Indiana gives its incoming freshmen class a keepsake enamel pin and t-shirt featuring a new design each year. The designs for these are made by current students.
For my submission, I chose to use the new Screaming Eagles Arena as a base for the design. I wanted to capture the sharp, geometric characteristics of the building, so I took a picture at the corner of the arena as a starting point.
One of the challenges of this project was the restriction of color; the design for the t-shirts could only use two colors (with the shirt acting as a third color). It was important that this design work with 5 different shirt colors, so two different variations were made with each incorporating "negative space" to use the shirt's color.
