Thiruppavai is a collection of 30 devotional hymns or poems composed by the 8th-century Tamil poet-saint Andal, who is one of the 12 Alvars (saints) in the Vaishnavism tradition. Thiruppavai is an important part of the Tamil Bhakti tradition and is considered highly significant in South Indian Hindu culture.
