Fossil-Watch-Project

I really like fossil watches and wanted to recreate a photorealistic version of one of them. I honestly thought when I was doing this project and recreating the watch that it would be easy, but I learned more from it than I thought I would. It was an intense challenge for me, but well worth what I have learned. I was asking for as much critique on this as possible because I wanted it to turn out well.

While I was sketching it out I wanted to focus on specific parts of the watch so I could best visualize them before I would take them into illustrator. I created multiple variations of the sketches so I could see what was going to work best.
When I first started this, I felt like I was on track for my deadlines. As I started to work on this more, I realized I was in a different place than I should have been. I went back and forth on multiple ideas and was able to finally find what was working best on creating this watch.
This is the draft that I had where I was receiving the best feedback on the design. What I was missing with this was not using enough shadows to give it the feeling of illusion. Immediately I started using that feedback in my work and the watch design improved drastically.
I am extremely happy with how this watch turned out. My goal of working on this project was to improve generally in becoming a better graphic designer and I can definitely tell that I have greatly improved in my skillset.
