Social heritage, also known as popular heritage, encompasses the traditions passed down from one generation to another, such as language, knowledge, institutions, and ideas. My grandfather, with his deep knowledge of the sea, had a significant impact on my life, inspiring me with his love for the sea and nautical culture.
I feel grateful for inheriting rich cultural traditions from my ancestors and for incorporating them into my creative efforts. I believe we are shaped by our past, whether through shared experiences or the teachings we receive.
The prototyped piece is inspired by fishing nets and is made in crochet, representing the connection to the sea, without emphasizing practicality and functionality for life in the water.
