Sophomore Self Portraits

My journey in self portraiture developed from a exuberant love of experimentation in oil and color. As it happened, the color didn't always reflect my current mood or state of mind while painting, but rather where I'd like my self to be. I broke open my boundaries when it came to how accurate a self portrait needed to be, and instead focused on the paint itself. This is, of course, a very familiar subject, so I felt free to experiment quickly and without hesitation.
