DECENTRALIZED WASTEWATER TREATMENT

The act of defecating in an open area rather than a sanitary is as a result of ignorance and primitive lifestyles, as well as a lack of sufficient technology for acceptable toilet models, this situation is widespread in Aiyetoro, Ilaje's coastal area.
The Nigerian government has made a strong commitment to aiding the population in moving away from open defecation, a move that will benefit everyone's health, especially children's.

The Ministry of Environment combats open defecation by increasing advocacy among the Aiyetoro people to raise awareness of the problem's prevalence, dangers, and solutions. Second, by establishing a Decentralized WasteWater System through construction of 30 septic tanks and 47 manholes which is channelled via the Secondary pipeline & trunk pipeline and directly to the Waste water pond.
