SYNOPSIS

"Lovecraft's Vermont Letter" is a short documentary narrative animation utilizing computer graphics. The editing incorporates live footage to enhance the storytelling and diversify the documentary genre experience. The project is specifically themed around Halloween, and it begins by incorporating the first four lines of H.P. Lovecraft's "Hallowe'en in a Suburb," written in March 1926.

Regarding "Lovecraft's Vermont Letter," it delves into a factual aspect of the renowned author's life: a letter he sent in 1929 to a recipient named Woodburn Harris from the state of Vermont. Remarkably, this letter spanned 70 pages and was a response to a prior letter sent to H.P. Lovecraft, covering a wide range of topics.

As for the production of this animated documentary, it commenced with the writing of the text and subsequent script development. Using the Character Creator 4 program, a character was constructed, animations were prepared, and the character was animated using Iclone. Then exported to Unreal Engine 5, where scenes were assembled, animations were fine-tuned, and rendering was set up. Subsequently, the footage was edited using After Effects, resulting in the completion of the work for viewing.
