DREAMING WITHIN A DREAM
The Uncanny Reel Promotion
In the film, The Uncanny, it is a crucial point for the character to be a dreamer for this is where the unconventional take on horror appears. So the task is to make a promo that would somehow tell the essence of the story but not really tell the point of the movie.
Jax, the subject in the reel, is a complicated character who always wanders in the wilderness of her own doing. Her own world is her prison, her own universe is her nightmare, thus she is stuck in the mirrors of her actions, thus, the mirror effect.
It can be magical but at the same time sinister, given by the scenarios of the effect. Afterall, it’s a dark fairytale story, so I believe it’s the most appropriate visual approach.
