Garden Unidos
On week 5 my class and I ventured to Garden Unidos in Oceanside. This was a given opportunity where we had the chance to learn about botany, the environment, and planting garlic and marigolds. This activity motivated us students to be active learners about plants, the seasons impact, soils, and tending to nature. Alongside, Garden Unidos welcomed us very kindly and let us explore their land and learn about their medicinal plants and edible plants. Some examples are tomatoes, rosemary, oregano, garlic, pomegranates, pineapples, and chard. Garden Unidos is a family-owned farm, which made this experience unique and memorable. I got the chance to plant garlic, and during the process I found it to be therapeutic, reflective, and rejuvenate.
