Visual ID for a contemporary art gallery.

Artistica is an independent gallery dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Their mission is to promote and showcase the talents of Bulgarian artists, sculptors, and writers and touch the hearts of as many people as possible through their creations. The main issue the client faced was the outdated visual identity, as well as the lack of consistency in icons, patterns, and other supporting graphics for branding materials.

In addition to being luxurious and memorable, the new visual language needed to be compatible with the increasing digitalization in art galleries – online exhibitions through virtual reality, online sales, marketing through social channels, etc. The client was looking to establish a stronger presence on social media and expand into Augmented Reality and VR exhibitions in order to outperform competitor galleries in the new digital age.
The new vision combines sophistication with a touch of playfulness – the brand name itself means 'Artistic' in Spanish, which suggests spontaneity. The pattern, composed of modular graphics, allows flexibility in creating various frames and background illustrations.
A modular pattern system was created out of 30 framed illustration depicting different aspects of gallery life. The building blocks for the system are scaleable and change shape easily to fit together into different frames and background patterns of different shapes.
A comprehensive branding manual was created to help the client further build the visual identity and keep the visual language sharp and consistent:
Full set of print designs was created to accommodate each of the gallery's needs - from invitations and posters to promotional wine labels and business cards and stationery:
An elegant and yet witty and thoughtful icon set was created for the website homepage as part of the branding manual creation:
