BUZZ - A Song Identifying App
At-A-Glance
A client from my school gave me this work, and I can say with certainty that I was enthralled from the start. I dove deeply into a world of thrilling insights as I started the path of making this app. Through this interactive experience, I was able to learn more about UI/UX design and discover creative solutions to a range of problems. I now have a much better grasp of how to create designs that actually prioritize the user experience. As a result, I am steadfastly committed to taking the BUZZ app to the highest level of usability and user-centered excellence, securing its position as one of the top applications on a global scale.
Problem
🤔 Amal is a student who needs to identify songs he hears on the radio, in stores, or on TV because he loves discovering new music. He feels sad when he hears songs he loves but can't recognize them.
👉🏾 People frequently experience dissatisfaction and miss out on opportunities to discover new music because they are unable to recognize songs they hear on the radio, in stores, or on TV. Buzz seeks to address this issue by offering a quick and accurate way to recognize and learn more about any song with just a small audio sample.

Solution
💡 I worked closely with a fellow computer science student on this project, which was a final year requirement. Together, we successfully developed an app that accurately provides information about any song played anywhere in the world. Furthermore, we made sure that our app stays up-to-date with the latest technological trends worldwide.

Process
Once I had a clear grasp of the client's needs, I crafted an application drawing from Buzz's problem-solving strengths. I kicked things off with a simple low-fidelity prototype. I then gathered feedback from 5 user tests, fine-tuning the design based on their input, which led to a solid 80% satisfaction rate. Building on this, I proceeded to create a high-fidelity prototype, ensuring the concept was further refined.
User Research
I conducted comprehensive user research under guidance and gathered valuable feedback from users, all of which I skillfully integrated into detailed user personas. A prime example is my user persona, Amal, who experiences frustration over his inability to identify songs playing during his commute from school to home or while out shopping. His journey eventually leads him to discover the app Buzz, which not only addresses his recognition concerns but goes beyond to meet additional needs.
Sketches
I sketched my vision for the Buzz app before delving into full-scale design on Figma. This preemptive step eased the design process and minimized errors during the Figma design.
Close Up Storyboard
I crafted a detailed storyboard, showcasing how users would navigate the app on their phones and illustrating the seamless utilization of Buzz app's key features.
Big Picture Storyboard
I designed a big picture storyboard, portraying the user's experience when facing such challenges. It demonstrates how the Buzz app effectively resolves issues, enhancing user happiness and satisfaction.
Wireframes
I created wireframes to provide a visual layout, facilitate idea translation, chart user flow, emphasize core functions, stimulate experimentation, improve user collaboration, and guarantee design consistency throughout the creation and usage of the Buzz app.
HiFi Mock ups
Hi-Fi mockups showcase the high-fidelity onboarding screen design, illustrating the captivating design of the Buzz app and its ability to engage users, encouraging prolonged app usage.
User Flow
I developed the information architecture and user flow to provide a clearer understanding of the app's progression from start to finish. This showcases the user-friendly operation and comprehension.
Competitive Audit
A competitive audit was conducted to identify both direct and indirect competitors that the Buzz app might encounter. This helps us understand the strengths and weaknesses of competitors, enabling us to structure the Buzz app for comprehensive user satisfaction unparalleled elsewhere.
Pain Points
Pain points were identified to illustrate potential user inconveniences while using the app. This informs our design and development process to address and mitigate these issues effectively.
