WK 4: Fast Fashion Poster

Poster Idea 1
Process:
I roughly drew out a frame using a 0.4 fine liner pen and sketched out my idea.

Reflection:
Positive - I like the layout and use of white space and text used to form the shape of a dress.
Improvement - The message may be difficult for the audience to understand

Poster Idea 2
Process: I roughly drew out a frame using an HB pencil and sketched my design.

Reflection:
Positive - I like the call-to-action text since the audience knows what the message of the poster is
Improvement - The smaller text might be too small and not draw the eye of the viewer

Poster Idea 3
Process: I roughly drew out a frame using a 0.4 fine liner pen and drew out my idea

Reflection:
Positive - I like using the dress to link to negative factors of fast fashion so the audience can make the link to their impact.
Improvement - I need to add

Final Design: Colour
Process: I used Adobe Illustrator to draw the elements of my poster. I used Adobe Color to make a colour scheme. I then added text related to the impacts of fast fashion.

Reflection:
I chose this design because it resembles a fashion magazine layout which compliments the message of the poster well. I also thought it would translate well to collage.
Positive - I like the limited use of colour, it emphasises the message.
Improvement - I think the text could be improved with different wording so it is clear to the audience.

Fast Fashion Collage
Process: I cut up pages from fashion magazines and painted pieces of paper (acrylic paint). I used crumpled-up articles on fashion as the background and layered dresses to show the quick-changing trends of the fast fashion industry. I stuck on the painted pieces of paper and the used a white gel pen to add text.

Reflection:
This process was very different from the previous version. I had to think about what materials I used and in what order I placed them so they would not get covered up. There was also a limitation of the images I could find and what I had to create.
Positive - I like how layered and 3-dimensional it looks, as well as how it looks like a messy, deconstructed fashion magazine page.
Improvement - The paper I did the collage in was curved in the centre the scan of it is slightly blurry in some places.
