In this project focusing on portraying routine, I focused on one I shared with my sister and my grandfather as a kid. Leading up to the months before I came to America, my grandfather took us to Dunkin Donuts during various afternoons. With coffee still an unacquired taste for me as a young boy, my sister and I got donuts while my grandfather got coffee. This routine continued on until my family left for America, leaving behind my grandparents.

My grandfather singularly continued this routine without us until one day, while having his coffee at Dunkin Donuts, he had a stroke that ultimately led to his passing.

With this piece, I wanted to convey the abrupt and sudden nature of leaving, both through my family's migration from the Philppines and my grandfather's departure.
